I know it can be hard to ask for help. It can be uncomfortable. Introducing the coffee challenge:
Go to a coffee shop or fast food place and make a simple order and ask for 10% off. Don’t say anything else. The whole point is to feel uncomfortable. Once you see nothing bad will happen, you will gain confidence in asking for things that are uncomfortable. This can include getting therapy, asking a friend or family to listen to you or having someone help you with something.
If you get turned down for the 10% discount, just say “Okay”. But smile and nod knowing you found the courage to ask, and nothing bad happened. It is also practice in getting rejected or having a setback. You have to try even if you fail. You won’t fail every single time. You will have wins.
